This piece is about ten inches tall and was molded over a twisted wire frame in marbled modeling clay.

It took about a month to create. Having most of the weight in the upper sections and it all supported by the lower legs made this piece an interesting challenge. I not only had to be very creative with balance but also with maintaining strength while molding its' feminine form.

I dedicate this piece to all of womankind. As this piece illustrates, while she contemplates her own naked existence, she must also balance her role in supporting life.

As a parent this piece has come to mean even more to me. I teach both my daughter and my son to respect the choices of others when it comes to their own life but to understand the delicate balance of obligations to each other because we are all the greatest of all responsibilities that our God of many names has given to all.

Woman is the only one of God's creatures on this earth that has been given, not only an instinct to reproduce but the conscious choice to bring new hope for all of humankind.
